Choosing Your Next HeartMath Certification: Prices, Eligibility, and Next Steps

Already certified with HeartMath, or deciding where to start? This guide shows which certification fits your work, what each one costs, who is eligible, and the usual next step after each program.

For health professionals

HeartMath offers three certifications for licensed and certified health professionals. HCC and HMIP are alternatives that teach the same science and techniques; neither is a step up from the other. The Resilient Heart adds trauma-sensitive skills to either.

HeartMath Clinical Certification (HCC)

  • Best for: clinicians whose patients practice at home, between visits, with the Inner Balance Coherence Plus
  • Price: $249 certification only, or $399 with the Inner Balance Coherence Plus sensor and lifetime HeartMath App access
  • CE credit: NBHWC 6 hours, BCIA 7 hours, Health Coach Alliance 20 CECs

HeartMath Interventions Program (HMIP)

  • Best for: clinicians who run coherence sessions with patients in the office
  • Price: $499, including emWave Pro Plus software and sensor, or $649 with the Inner Balance Coherence Plus sensor added

The Resilient Heart: Trauma-Sensitive Certification (TRH)

  • Best for: clinicians working with people affected by trauma
  • Price: $299 certification only, or $449 with the Inner Balance Coherence Plus sensor
  • CE credit: NBHWC 12 hours

Eligibility for all three: licensed or certified health professionals working with patients on physical or mental health, students in licensure-track medical or mental health programs, and board-certified health and performance coaches. Life, personal, and business coaches and corporate trainers are not eligible.

For coaches, mentors, and trainers

Building Personal Resilience (BPR): HeartMath Coach Certification

  • Best for: coaches, mentors, facilitators, counselors, and consultants working one-on-one or with small groups of up to six. No clinical license needed.
  • Price: $1,295, including all materials and your license to practice. Ask about the Early Bird Inner Balance offer.

Coherence Advantage (CA): HeartMath Certified Trainer program

  • Best for: trainers, consultants, HR leads, and similar professionals who want to deliver workshops to groups of any size, independently or within their organization
  • Price: $3,995. Requires the Inner Balance Coherence Plus sensor; registrants get 30% off it.

Activating the Heart of Teams (AHT)

  • Best for: experienced facilitators working with intact teams
  • Price: $3,995, or less if you're already certified (see below). Includes the Inner Balance Coherence Plus sensor.

The Resilience Advantage

  • Best for: people leading training or wellness initiatives inside a hospital, health system, or organization who want private, one-to-one mentoring

Stress and Well-Being Assessment (SWBA)

  • Best for: anyone certified who wants to provide the HeartMath Stress and Well-Being Assessment. Available as a stand-alone certification or bundled with BPR.
  • Price: Provider Course $495; License to Provide 50 Assessments $245

  • After HCC: The Resilient Heart, and HMIP if you also run in-office sessions
  • After HMIP: The Resilient Heart, and HCC if your patients will practice at home
  • After The Resilient Heart: HCC or HMIP, depending on how you work with patients
  • After Building Personal Resilience: the Stress and Well-Being Assessment and/or Coherence Advantage, to start leading group workshops
  • After Coherence Advantage or The Resilience Advantage: Activating the Heart of Teams, combined with the Stress and Well-Being Assessment
  • Health professionals who want to train groups: Coherence Advantage

Already certified with us? It costs less.

Everything you've already learned counts, so we don't charge you to learn it twice. Activating the Heart of Teams pricing:

  • New to HeartMath certification: $3,995
  • Already certified in Coherence Advantage or The Resilience Advantage: $3,195 (save $800)
  • Already certified in Building Personal Resilience: $3,695 (save $300)

Older HeartMath certifications

Certifications earned in earlier versions of our programs, such as HeartMath Coach and Mentor, 1 to 1 Provider, or HeartMath Certified Trainer, are still valid. You can take the current version as a refresher course.
